Black Necked Crane Festival

DAY 01: Arrive to Paro

Arrive Paro International. Your tour guide will receive you from the airport and escort you to your hotel. Walk around Paro town and visit the impressive Paro Rinpung Dzong ( Buddhist Monastery & fortress). You can also visit Ta Dzong (“The watch tower”) now the museum of Bhutan, it boasts a rich variety of artifacts from all over the country representing different eras. In the late evening enjoy the hot-stone bath for relaxation.

DAY 02: Transfar to Thimphu

After Having breakfast check into Thimphu(Capital) for some sightseeing. You can visit to places like National Memorial Chorten, The Craft bazaar, the national library. In the evening you can take a drive out of town to view Simtokha Dzong( one of the oldest Dzong in Bhutan, dating from 629 A.D) ,Else you can drive to Buddha point (Gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan celebrating 60th anniversary of 4th King Jigme Singye Wangchuk) or radio tower to enjoy the view of Thimphu city and visit Takin zoo and see the unique national animal.

DAY 03: Drive to Punakha

In the morning drive to Punakha (the old Capital of Bhutan) Stop at Dochu la pass (3050 Meters) and have some refreshment enjoying the view of Eastern Himalaya ranges. In the afternoon visit the Punukha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang(Temple of fertility) which was built in the 15th century.

DAY 04: Drive to Gangtey

Drive to Gangtey (3500 meters) enjoys the views of immense and remote phobjikha valley and black mountain ranges. You can see the black necked crane, if you visit Gangtey on 11th November you can witness the black necked crane festival. (The annual black-necked crane festival is organized to generate awareness and understanding on the importance of conserving the endangered Black‐necked cranes; to strengthen the linkages between conservation, economic welfare and sustainable livelihoods of the community; provide an avenue for the local community to renew their commitment to conservation of the black-necked cranes, and to showcase their cultural heritage and skills.)

DAY 05: Return to Paro

Return to Paro via Wangdi. Have lunch in Wangdi and visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong. After lunch drive to Paro, in the afternoon visit Drugyel Dzong ( Ancient fortress) and Kyichu lhakhang (centuries old Buddhist temple).

DAY 06: Visit Takshang

This morning hike to visit Takshang (Tigers nest) a scared temple hanging on the rocky cliff. Have Lunch at the Takshang Cafeteria enjoying the view of the Takshang Monastry.

DAY 07: Drop to Airport

Early in the morning your guide will accompany you to the Airport to see you off onto your flight and wish you Tashi Delek (Goodbye and good luck).
